Kathryn W Lambright
Oct 8, 1927 - Jun 13, 2008

Kathryn Wittenberg Lambright, age 80, of Little Rock died peacefully in her sleep Friday, June 13, 2008. Katy was born in Little Rock, October 8, 1927, the daughter of the late George Hyde and Minnie Greenfield Wittenberg. Raised in Little Rock she graduated from Little Rock High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. There she met and later married Frank her husband of 58 years. In addition to her active role as wife and mother of two children she was involved in many issues and activities affecting her community. She was a member of the Women’s Emergency Committee, the first President of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the panel of American Women, and she was a life long supporter of the Little Rock Public Schools including two years as president of the Little Rock Central High School PTA. She also served on the board of the Old State House, and was active with United Cerebral Palsy. Trips to Williamsburg and cities in Europe rewarded her shared interest with her husband in history and antiques. She was perhaps most loved by those who knew her for her utter lack of pretention and her boundless sense of humor. Kathryn’s family wants to thank all of the people who have shown their genuine kindness and concern toward her during this stage in her life. Particularly thanks to the administration and staff at Presbyterian Village, St. Vincent’s Infirmary Medical Center and Arkansas Hospice. Survivors include her husband Frank Lambright of Little Rock, her son Bill and wife Mary Lambright of Little Rock, her daughter Nancy Smith and husband David of Heber Springs, Arkansas, her granddaughter Gracie Lambright, one brother Gordon Wittenberg, her sister-in-law Helen Wittenberg, and her nephews; George, Tom, Gordon and Ray Wittenberg all of Little Rock. There will be a memorial funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17th, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th Street Little Rock, officiated by The Reverend Canon Rhea Ewing Jackson. Services are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made in Kathryn’s memory to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
