81 Years Old

*Obituary

Patricia Ann Lott was born in Lonoke, Arkansas, the eldest daughter of Dealie Nowell. Her mother had nine children, so from the time she was young, she always seemed to be carrying a baby on her hip. She loved babies.

She was a young teenager when she met James Lott, but he was eighteen and soon to be serving in the military in Germany. Upon returning home to Lonoke after three years, he saw her in a different light. He fell in love, asking her every night if he could walk her home from the Dairy Bar, where she worked. She said no, night after night. Until she said yes.

She said yes to him again on January 16, 1959, the day they were married.

One year later, she became what she was always meant to be: a wonderful mother. She and James welcomed their first baby, Carol, and Beverly was born in May of the following year. Eddie came two years later, with Gina becoming the baby of the family a year after that.

Pat became a grandmother, “Mamaw”, at age 36, but one would never believe it to see her. With her trim figure and long red hair, she and James were more than once mistaken for movie stars or country and western singers.

The Lott Family would have many happy Christmases in the homes that Papaw built for Mamaw. First in Lonoke, then in Cabot, and Fairfield Bay. James and Pat found their haven in Greenbrier, where she began turning her expansive front yard into a showcase of flowers, rosebushes and flowering trees. She began painting these flowers six years ago, and turned James’s office into an art studio.

She loved this area, where she and James made their church home at Needs Creek. She forged friendships there and found joy in being the Sunday School teacher of the seven- and eight-year-olds. She always listened to those children, encouraging them to love the Lord as she did. Inviting those she would meet in her day-to-day life to her church was a common occurrence.

Everyone who was lucky enough to meet her, experienced the knack she had for making people feel special. Her warmth and gentleness were felt by all who knew her.

Patricia Ann Lott was preceded in death by her mother, Dealie Henry, her brothers, Pete Nowell, Ray “Roy” Welch and Bobby Campbell, and her sisters, Carolyn Nowell, Joyce Sims, and Pam Hill. She is survived by her brother, Gary Campbell (Shelly) and sister, Linda Stricklin. She leaves behind her beloved husband, James Lott; children, Carol Lott-Sumler, Beverly Leach (Tony), Eddie Lott (DeAnn), and Gina Ferguson (Bill). She also leaves six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Needs Creek Missionary Baptist Church, in Greenbrier, Arkansas, with visitation starting at 11:00 AM.
