Raymond E. Butler, 78 of Camden, AR walked into the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. He was born February 03, 1939 in Rosston, AR to Tilton E. and Thelma Alice Marlar Butler. He was baptized at an early age by Brother Otis Reddin. He was a graduate of Fairview High School. He was a mid-south (5 states) Golden Gloves boxing champion in 1956 and he served in the Military Police in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1960. He was a member of Cullendale First Baptist Church where he was a trustee. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He had the most wonderful smile that could light up your heart.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Raymond Butler. He is survived by his wife, Sonja Kay Darby Butler; son, Lance Allen Butler; grandchildren, Jon Michael Butler, Landon Michael Butler and Carson Steven Butler; sisters, Linda Butler Buster, Sue Butler Hamilton and Frances Butler Arnold.
Funeral services for Mr. Butler will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Cullendale First Baptist Church with burial in Bethesda Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
