Mrs. Betty Louise Warnock, age 93 of Elliott community near Camden, AR passed away on June 27, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.
Mrs. Warnock was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Lillian Foreman, a brother Arden, a sister Jeanette, her husband of 50 years Ward L. “Jack" Warnock and a son-in-law Gary Johnson. She is survived by her son William Warnock and wife Mary of Elkins, AR: daughter Barbara Capps and husband Stephen of Texarkana, AR: three sisters Inez Helm and husband Don of Batesville, AR: Katherine Clifft of Paragould, AR; Sue Brown of Jonesboro, AR; grandchildren Jody Nida and husband Joseph of Minden, LA; Kurt Johnson and wife Leta of Camden, AR: Keith Warnock of Elkins, AR and Jacquelyn Warnock and husband Ryan Walker of Richland, WA; great grandchildren David Nida, John Nida, and Paul Nida of Minden, LA; and Weston Johnson of Camden, AR; 16 nieces and nephews.
As a member of America's Greatest Generation, during WWII, she and her sister Inez, worked in a cannery which had been converted to produce ammunition cannisters for the military. Mrs Warnock held Bachelor and Master degrees in Elementary Education from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She served as an elementary school teacher for 36 years with the majority of those years served at Camden Fairview Elementary School. She especially enjoyed teaching her students to read and how to improve their reading skills.
She was an active member of her Sunday School class at Elliott Baptist church and enjoyed working with others on compiling the Church History/Archives. She was also instrumental in the development of the Prayer Room.
Dr. Rex Horne and Rev. Paul Easter will officiate a celebration of her life on Monday, July 2nd at 2:00 PM at Elliott Baptist Church in Camden, AR. Interment will follow at the family plot at Bethesda Cemetery. Jerry Warnock, Jimmy Cooper, Mike Smith, Bruce Helm, Buddy Warnock, and Ricky Clifft will serve as pallbearers.
