Catherine E. (Benetz) Schutter, of Little Rock, died peacefully Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at St. Vincent’s Doctors/Arkansas Hospice, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 82.
Born March 29, 1921, in Little Rock, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Mary Moix Benetz. She graduated from Mount St. Mary’s Academy and then attended St. Vincent’s School of Nursing. She was an RN at St. Vincent’s Hospital for forty-five years before retiring. She was also a member of the Catholic Business Women’s Club, the Holy Souls Senior Group, The Holy Souls Altar Society, and was one of the founding members of the infamous Holy Souls Sewing Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. She is survived by her husband, Harold; daughters, Sharon Flory and husband Steve; Linda Lee and husband Mike; Tricia Kerr and husband Rick; and a son, Mel Schutter; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
