Vernon Clark Meyer of Bella Vista, Ark., beloved husband and father and veteran of the Korean War, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at Arkansas Veterans Home of Fayetteville in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born in, Pocohantas, Iowa to Martin and Hazel Meinerts Meyer.

Vernon's grandfather, Reverend Henry Meyer, from Cologn, Germany, founded the Lutheran Church in Pomeroy, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Meyer, his sons, Tim Meyer of Kansas City, Mo. and Vernon Meyer of Buffalo, Mo., his daughter, Ruth Ann Burkholder, and her husband, James of Hawaii, and his brother Theodore Meyer and sisters Myrna Rieck and Constance Bellinghausen.

A graveside service will be held March 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.
