Geraldine “Jerri” Stroops Helms, 81 of Camden died Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Silver Oaks Health and Rehab. She was born September 25, 1937 in Camden to the late Frank ”Burly” and Ocie Bryant Stroops. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Jerri is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Emmett LeRoy “Roy” Helms, sons, Gary and James “Jim” Helms.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Betts and husband, Steve, son, Lee Helms, daughter-in-law, Sharon Helms all of Camden; grandchildren, Christina (Matt) Kocher, Anthony (Kendall) Helms, Kim (Tommy) Williams, Mark Bouzigard, Stacey (Davin) Burson, Matt (Marie) Bouzigard, Billy (Amy) Betts, Chris (Donnie) Betts, Brad Betts, Scott (Chelsea) Betts, Bethany Betts; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Jerri loved her children and grandchildren and was always happiest when family and friends would stop by to visit. She was best known for her many years serving as a waitress at the Duck Inn Restaurant in Camden. She also served as a volunteer at the Ruby Snyder Center until her health prevented her from helping.
Visitation will be Monday, October 29, 2018 from 6-8PM at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
