Mary Ann McCoy, age 81, of Little Rock, died, Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Arkansas Hospice in St. Vincent Infirmary. Mary Ann was born June 9, 1932 in Brasfield, AR (Prairie County), the first child of Mary Scott and Clint "Cotton" Moffitt. She was raised in Brinkley, AR graduating from high school there in 1950. She attended Monticello A & M (now Univ. of Ark. at Monticello) for two years before transferring to the U of A at Fayetteville where she majored in Home Economics. She resided in the Girls' 4-H House, and was president of the house in her senior year of 1953-54. On July 24, 1955, she married Bennie J. McCoy of Dermott, AR. They began their married life in Fayetteville, moving to Little Rock in 1957. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church of Little Rock for 49 years, and made many dear friends there. Mary Ann was a third generation school teacher. She taught in the Little Rock School District for over 20 years; teaching at Southwest Junior high School and Dunbar Junior high School.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years; daughter, Jane Harkey (Batson) of Little Rock, daughter, Amanda Hendrix (Max) of Brock, TX; son, Jeff McCoy (Ginger) of Marietta, GA. She is also survived by five granddaughters: Katherine Hendrix of Brock, TX and the four McCoy girls; Claire, Beth, Sarah, and Cate of Marietta, GA. Also survived by sister-in-law, Dean Moffitt of Conway, a niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Clint "Buddy" Moffitt of Mayflower, AR.
