Linda Jeanne Steinkraus of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away in her home on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at the age of 59. She was born Linda Jeanne Merritt in New Haven, Connecticut on December 8, 1950, to Philip and Irene Merritt. She was married to Karl William Steinkraus Jr., who passed away in August of 2009.
Linda graduated with highest honors from Southern Arkansas University in 1972 and worked since then as a Certified Public Accountant. During her career she served as a partner at the firm of Cullum, Keen & McIlroy and was a vital member of the CPA firm, Schwartz and Associates. Her integrity, personality and dedication to her clients were well known.
Linda was an active member of the St. James United Methodist Church, serving on the Board of Stewards and was an avid participant in the choir and in the hand bell group.
Linda is survived by her two sons, Karl William Steinkraus III (Trey) and Matthew Kenneth Steinkraus, both of Little Rock, Arkansas; by her two sisters, Diana Irene Wood of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Catherine Grace Marx of Clinton, Arkansas; and by her brother, Philip Charles Merritt of Atlanta, Georgia.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at St. James United Methodist Church on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.; everyone is invited to attend. The Rev. Greg Schick will be officiating. Linda requested that her body be cremated and that her ashes be interred in the columbarium at St. James Columbarium Garden.
