November 6, 1958 - December 16, 2022
Brenda Sue Tate, 64 of Hoxie, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022, surrounded by her family at her residence.
Born November 6, 1958, in Newport; daughter of the late, J.W and Mae Anita Fortenberry Slagley. She was united in marriage to Marlyn G. Tate on November 6, 1980. She was a retired receptionist for the Lawrence County Family Clinic in Walnut Ridge. Brenda was very outgoing, friendly, and loved spending time with her family. Her pride and joy was her grandbabies, helping with their school, team sports and never missing an event. She had a strong faith and was an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Walnut Ridge.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two twin grand-daughters, Anna Claire and Sophia Micheale; four siblings, Shirley, Johnny, Kevin and Steven Slagley.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Marlyn; four children, Will (Amanda) Tate of Jonesboro, Adam (Shelby) of Benton, Jill (Adam) Hunt of Annieville, and Sara Tate of Hoxie; eleven grandchildren, Jamison, Keegan, Macie (Gage), Lola, Westin, Parker, Emma, Addison, Channing, Cora, and Roman; seven siblings, Barbara Lucy, Lana Black, Patti Hazelip, Roger, Billy, Paul, and Rickey Slagley; her puppy, Bella; a host of nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Rosary service will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 5 P.M. in the Bryan Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M.
Memorial Service will be Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 10 A.M. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Walnut Ridge with Rev. Mike Sinkler officiating. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.
