Melba Marie (Dodson) Reeves, 84 of Willisville, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia, Arkansas.
She was born on January 5, 1928 in Magnolia, Arkansas to the late Sam Dodson and Linnie Belle (Camp) Dodson. She was retired from Firestone and of the Baptist faith. She loved traveling and camping with her special friend Cotton throughout the United States.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Madison Harrison Reeves; a daughter Dorothy Virginia Reeves; two sister's Dorothy Krantz and Lurlene McGuire; a brother Sam Dodson, Jr.; and her special friend James "Cotton" Butler.
Melba is survived by her daughter Margie Touchet and husband Danny of Pineville, Louisiana; three sons, Michael Reeves and wife Linda of Bentley, Louisiana, Jimmy Reeves and wife Regina of Magnolia. Jerry Reeves and wife Cynthia of Willisville, Arkansas; two brother's B.C. Dodson of Magnolia, Carroll Dodson of New Boston, Texas; a sister Sandy (Dodson) Tomlin of Alabama; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia with Herschel Shackelford and Rick Shackelford officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her grandson's Michael Touchet, Steven Touchet, Steven Matthew Reeves, Chris Reeves, David Reeves, and Matt Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be John Word, John Guillot, Dales Barnes, and Aaron Easley.
