James “Tadpole” Williamson, 79, of Stamps, AR died Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, TX.
James was born on October 19, 1936 in Columbia County, Arkansas to late Robert Elmodia and Dessie Cheatham Williamson. He retired from Samson Oil Company and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in McNeil, AR.
He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Shawna Williamson; brothers and sister Eldees Williamson, Vertis Williamson and Clara Brooks.
James is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Williamson of Stamps, AR, sons Mike Williamson of Stamps, AR, Richard Williamson and wife Marie of Camden, AR, Tony Williamson of Palm Springs, CA; brother Bob Williamson and wife Betty of Midland, TX; sisters Dorothy Jones of Maumelle, AR and Barbara Ann Keith and husband Duane of Haughton, LA; grandchildren Todd Crank of Muscat, Oman, Brittney Williamson of Greenbrier, AR, and Whittney Williamson of Magnolia, AR; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Lewis Funeral Chapel with Bro. William Smith officiating. Interment will be held at New Hope Cemetery in McNeil, AR under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia.
The family requests that memorials are sent to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in the name of Shawna Williamson www.archildrens.org
