Jessie Nicholson Kegley, age 95, a former residence of Magnolia, AR and McNeil, AR, passed away from this life December 5th in Jonesboro, AR.
Jessie was a well-known Magnolia hospital nurse where she served for 20 plus years until retirement in 1992. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her cheery smile and energetic caring manner. Jessie was an avid gardener and canned her vegetables, sharing them with others.
Mrs. Kegley was preceded in death by her first husband, James Earnest Nicholson, and second husband, Paul Wayne Kegley; parents Lester and Clara Smart; seven older siblings including sisters and brothers-in-law Clyde and Evelyn Gunnels and Morgan and Denise Staggs; and son-in-law Phil Huckabee.
Survivors include step son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James and Wanda Nicholson; two daughters and sons-in-law Al and Judy Nicholson Burns and Dr. James and Anita Nicholson Cullins; grandchildren and spouses Terry and Kim Huckabee, Trav and Jana Cullins Tracker, and Adrian and Adrienne Cullins Bolton; four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Services will be at the Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia, AR, December 9th with visitation at 9:00 AM and chapel service at 10:00 AM followed by graveside service at New Hope Cemetery, Reverend Danny Bullock presiding. Pallbearers are to be announced.
It is requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Magnolia Hospital, New Hope Cemetery, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
