Dorothy Jones Phillips, 92, of Searcy became whole when she stepped into the presence of God on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022. She was a resident of the Providence Assisted Living Community in Searcy. She was born Aug. 12, 1929, at Doniphan to the late Harrison and Osie (Stevens) Jones. In December 1949, she married Erett "Doodler" Phillips, who preceded her in death. Dorothy was a charter member of the Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and used her gift of hospitality to bless others.
She loved her family, her Savior and friends fiercely.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Beth Bell of Pangburn and Beverly Hays (James) of Searcy; grandchildren, John Bell (D'Lyna), Sarah Bell, Philip Hays (Abby) and Rachel Vanhook (Richard); 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, as well as a host of friends who will miss her but will see her again if they are prepared.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jo Dawn Phillips; brothers, Delmas Jones and Kenneth Jones; and a sister, Virginia Armstrong.
Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Valley Baptist Church with Bro. James Hays and Bro. Doug Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in the Gum Springs Cemetery.
