Mary Virginia Losey Kendig, 96, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord peacefully Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
She was born on March 5, 1918 in Bolivar, MO and was the fifth of seven children born to Charles Henry and Clariscia Amanda (Orton) Losey. She married her husband of 69 years Charles A. Kendig in September 1940, and they were the loving parents of James A. Kendig and Mary E. Davidson.
Mary had a vibrancy that filled every room she entered. She and Charles owned Charlie's Army and Navy Store in both Newport and Magnolia. In her free time Mary enjoyed fishing, golfing, and painting. There was never a task too big for her to handle.
In Heaven she is joining her parents; siblings; husband; son; and a special granddaughter, Kimberly G. Robison. She is missed by her daughter; grandson Kenith R. Robison; grandson James A. and wife Karen Kendig; four great-grandchildren: Michael, Renee, Brett, and Courtney; many nieces and nephews; as well as multiple friends. Mary will be remembered for her vivacious smile and infectious attitude that radiated everywhere she went.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10th from 12 to 2 PM at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia with graveside services following at 2:30 PM at the New Hope Cemetery in McNeil with Bro. Steve Ford officiating.
