Springdale — John L. Downum, 81, of 808 W. Emma, died March 24 at Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 7, 1891 in Springdale, he operated the Downum Florist Shop, was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a 50-year Mason. He was a veteran of World War I and served in the U.S. Army, a Rotarian, and a Methodist.

He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Ola Mae Downum of the home and two sisters, Mrs. Joy Gaswint of Kansas City, Mo. and Mrs. Nina Martin of Lamont, Okla.

Funeral arrangements will he announced by Sisco Funeral Home Chapel.
