*When Ruth Cornelia Ivy was born on September 26, 1917, in Higginson, Arkansas, her father, James, was 34, and her mother, Willie, was 24. She married James Ashley “Red” Gilliam on August 3, 1933, in White, Arkansas. They had two children during their marriage. She died on March 12, 2002, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 84, and was buried there.
