ROGERS — Retired Lt. Col. William E. Wallace, 82, of Rogers died Oct. 3, 2004, at his home. He was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Hope to John A. and Virginia M. Crone Wallace.

He served in the Army for 30 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Rogers, was a life member of the American Legion and the Military Officers Association of America, was a 32nd-degree Mason and was a member of the NOMAD Shrine Club as a Hospital Dad. He was a graduate of Murray (Ky.) State University.

Survivors include his wife, Helen I. Wallace of the home; one daughter, Nancy Lou Wallace of Fayetteville; one brother, Arthur V. Wallace of Florida; one sister, Alice Louise Wallace Kelly of Little Rock; one grandson; three great-grandsons.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Allen L. Bates officiating.

Masonic graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at National Cemetery in Fayetteville. Military honors will be conducted by Bella Vista VFW Post 9063.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Box 339, Rogers, 72757-0339 or NOMAD Shrine Club, Hospital Dads, P.O. Box 171, Bentonville.

Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers.
