Gladys Mae Henderson Jefferson
Born March 5, 1935 in the backwoods of Princeton, AR, and following 82 years of springs, summers, autumns and winters, Gladys Mae Jefferson gently passed away surrounded by her children on the misty fall morning of October 3, 2017.
With a heart molded by God, Gladys accepted Christ at a very early age in Malvern, AR, and was a member of Vision of Faith church in Broken Arrow, OK. She attended Tulsa Booker T. Washington High School (1953), and dedicated 33 years in the pediatric ward of Hillcrest Hospital, where she was honored as Employee of the Year prior to her retirement.
Preceded in death by her parents Claude and Angie Lawson Henderson, brother Floyd and husband Arthur Jefferson, her memory is left to be cherished by sons Victor (Jennifer) Turner and Robert Louis Turner, Tulsa, OK: daughters: "Aj" Angela Turner Coffee, Austin, TX and Victoria Blocker, Tulsa, OK; step-children Cherry (Sam) Ballard, Dallas, TX, Dail (Gwen) Turner, Frisco, TX and Vincent (Debra) Turner, Malvern, AR; one brother, Curtis (Tess) Lawson (SC), two sisters Marjorie Lambert Barbee (AR) and Lillie Lambert Baker (CA); eighteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and a host of cousins and dear friends.
Viewing: 10am on Sat, Oct 14th at Bethel AME Church, 1220 Carmichael Street, Malvern; funeral services immediately following at 11am. Final resting place will be in the Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, AR.
