Bliss Kay Erwin Woodle gently and peacefully left her earthly body on Wednesday, October 17, at White County Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas. She bravely fought breast cancer for 6 years. Bliss leaves her children Chelsea Michaela, Chloe Elyse, Michael Chance, Callie Cheyenne Woodle and granddaughter-to-be, Laela Bliss Woodle as her legacy.
Bliss was born July 20, 1962, in Little Rock to Paul and Lillie Mae Erwin. She was a late-in-life surprise baby who was doted on by her parents and older siblings Randy, Paula, and Debbie. Bliss spent her early years in Little Rock and San Antonio, Texas, where she lived until her daddy's death in 1976.
After moving to Searcy, Bliss attended Harding Academy and after graduating from there in 1981 briefly attended Harding University.
Bliss was a hard worker with an out-going personality which was an asset in her many and varied places of employment. She was a one-of-a-kind individual with a big and caring heart along with a strong will and charming smile.
More than life itself, Bliss loved her children! She was a loving mother who gave willingly of her time to be with them and to attend their various activities; this continued throughout her illness and treatments. Each child was special to her and she was so proud of them from birth on.
Bliss loved people and people loved her. She was friendly, full of life, and fun to be with. Her life had many ups and downs, yet Bliss remained upbeat and buoyant.
Bliss is survived by her four children, Chelsea, Chloe, Chance, and Callie Woodle and her mother Lillie Mae Erwin, all of Searcy; siblings, Randy & Vicki Erwin of Little Rock, Paula & Anthony Brady of Sherwood, & Debbie & Mike Houx of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 4 nephews & 3 nieces; Maxine Woodle (grandmother of Bliss' children), many aunts, uncles, & cousins, and numerous friends from all walks of life. Paul Erwin, her father, Mike Woodle, former husband and father of her four children and a nephew preceded her in death.
The family greatly appreciates the concern and love received as Bliss was nearing the end of her life. A very special thank you to the nurses and aides who attended to our every need and to Home Hospice who kept Bliss and all of us so comfort able and comforted.
Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 19, 2012 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent to: First Security Bank, Attn.: Venita Davis P.O. Box 1009, Searcy AR. 72143.
