Thomas Scooter, age 98, of Pangburn, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009, in the White County Medical Center at Searcy, AR. Born September 25, 1910, at Clay, Arkansas, he was the son of the late W. L. and Mamie (Yingling) Sooter.
A resident of Pangburn for most of his life, Mr. Sooter was retired from the Pangburn Water Department and a member of the Pangburn First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eurlene Hardcastle Sooter, on June 10, 2004. Mr. Sooter was also preceded in death by one son, Tommy Max Sooter.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Ring and husband, Jim, of Hot Springs, AR, and Patty Pearce and husband, Butch, of Searcy, AR.; and four grandchildren. Mr. Sooter is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be held Monday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the Henderson Cemetery at Pangburn with Rev. Charles Christie officiating.

Mrs. Eurline Sooter, age 87, of Pangburn, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Byrd Haven Nursing Home in Searcy, Arkansas. Born January 14, 1917, at Pangburn, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Josie (Davis) Hardcastle. Mrs. Sooter was a retired beautician, and she was a member of First Baptist Church at Pangburn. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Tommy Max Sooter; and one brother, Truman Hardcastle. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Sooter of Pangburn, AR, two daughters, Linda Ring of Hot Springs Village, AR, and Patty Pearce of Searcy, AR, two sisters, Avanelle Baker of Georgia, and Lillie Mae Smith of Dallas, Texas, and four grandchildren. Mrs. Sooter is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
