Kenneth Duane Slate, 71 was born to Melvin and Mildred Sanders Slate on December 18, 1943 in Handford, California and passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Searcy, Arkansas.
Mr. Slate was a retired carpenter and he lived in Pangburn, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Wilma Jean Rowe, and a nephew, Billy Rowe.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda Hill Slate, two sons, Steven Slate (Christana) of McRae, Kenneth Ring, Jr. (Betty) of Quitman, five daughters, Kimberly Burkhardt of California, Peggy Gray (Roger) of Pangburn, Malinda Lawson (JR) of Heber Springs, Melissa Tippy (Todd) of Searcy, Tonya Sandefur (Kevin) of Bentonville, 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Betty Witt (Jim Bob) of Judsonia, Delores Boaz of Pangburn, a brother, Robert Slate of Pangburn other relatives and many friends.
Visitation on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Roller-Daniel Funeral in Searcy. Funeral Services is Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Henderson Cemetery, Pangburn.

Linda Elizabeth Slate the daughter of Elmer Hill and Ethel Mae Doles Lacy was born in Black Oak, Arkansas on May 18, 1952 and passed away in Searcy, Arkansas on May 28, 2017 at the age of 65 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, bird watching, being outdoors, gardening and hunting.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer Hill and Ethel Lacy, her husband Kenneth Slate, 3 brothers Robert Howell, Jessie Lee Hill and Bobby Hill, 2 sisters Betty Ruth Hill and Katie King. She is survived by three daughters Malinda Ring of Heber Springs, Melissa Tippy of Pangburn and Tonya Sandefur and husband Kevin of Bentonville, a son Kennith Ring JR. and wife Betty of Quitman, two brothers Elmer Hill, JR and wife Bettye of Pangburn and Jim Hill and wife Sue of Tumbling Shoals, three sisters Deborah Herrman of Heber Springs, Shirley Platz and husband James of Lake City and Stella Free of Wichita Falls, Texas. Linda is also survived by 11 grandchildren Brittney McFarland and husband Dalton, Paige Lawson, Parker Ring and wife Leah, Joey Ring, Jessica Britton, Jacob Tippy, Caleb Tippy, Elizabeth Sandefur, Emily Sandefur and husband Jonathan, Erica Sandefur and Jacilynn Sandefur, seven great grandchildren London McFarland, Fletcher McFarland, Jenah Rhodes, Jaxon Britton, Jesse Rhodes, Henry Brown and Nevaeh McConnell besides other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Family Funeral Service and funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. the same day in Family Funeral Service Chapel with interment in Henderson Cemetery at Pangburn, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Parker Ring, Joey Ring, Ira Goodman, Jacob Tippy, Todd Tippy and Jonathan McConnell.
