*Obituary
David W. Purkiss, son of Lottie Mae and Carlos Purkiss of Searcy, Ark., passed away after a long illness. He was a long time employee of the Texas Tech University Chemistry Department. David was a ham radio operator (KJ5RP) and a dedicated member of the storm spotting team working in cooperation with the National Weather Service.
