Gleneta Rose Marchant Martin
April 13, 1941 - February 21, 2021
Gleneta Rose Marchant Martin, daughter of the late Ashley Luster Marchant and Myrna Garner Marchant, was born April 13, 1941 in Melbourne, Arkansas. She departed this life February 21, 2021 at her home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 8 days.
She was united in marriage to Bobby Joe Martin November 12, 1959 in Batesville, Arkansas and together they raised two children. Gleneta spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Most of her working years were spent at Izard County Department of Human Services, retiring after 27 years of employment. Gleneta enjoyed working in her garden and was a Master Gardner. she had a special bond with 5 of her girlfriends since first grade-always keeping in touch to this day. Gleneta loved to travel, but only by car--no planes! She and Bob enjoyed bowling with other couples each week for years on a mixed senior league at Horseshoe Bend lanes. She was always interested in cutting edge technology and gadgets even before her grandkids knew they were on the market! She was of the church of Christ faith and a member of Millcrest Church of Christ.
She is survived by two children: Dani Martin McDaniel and husband James of Mountain Home and Mark Allan Martin and wife Lisa of Batesville; one sister: Bonita Wegner of Arvada, Colorado; eight grandchildren: Darah Lockhart McDaniel-Chandler (Blake) of Memphis, Tennessee, Larkin Dunedin McDaniel Sisson of Russellville, James Madison McDaniel, IV of Mountain Home, Christopher Allan Martin (Whitley) of Batesville, Casey Ren Martin (Alexa) of Batesville, Shelby Lynn Horn of Batesville, Austin Ray Horn (Seanna) of Maumelle and Lindsey Norman of Desha; three great grandchildren: Bristyn Brynne Martin, Greyson Lee Norman and Zaylee Crider and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation and funeral service will be held Saturday, February 27 at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Funeral service with Chuck Crow officiating will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Chris Martin, Casey Martin, Austin Horn, Jimmy McDaniel, Tony Schommer and Blake Chandler.
