Helen Evelyn Sutterfield, age 87, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at North Metro Medical Center in Jacksonville. Born in Clay, Arkansas, on November 17, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Liddy (Garner) Whisnant.
Mrs. Sutterfield was a homemaker, and her religious belief was Missionary Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred F. Sutterfield; her mom and dad, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Whisnant; one brother, five sisters, and one grandson.
Mrs. Sutterfield is survived by three sons, Dusty Sutterfield and his wife Delores, Stormy Sutterfield, and Donnie Sutterfield; six daughters, Fredia Hollingshead, Carolyn Gentry and her husband Drew, Sondra Havron, Mary Cox, Quanah Fears and her husband Ronnie, and Regina Evans; one sister, Velta Boudreaux; thirty-one grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren. Mrs. Sutterfield is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
