Shirley Lou Cothren Langley, age 78, of Heber Springs passed away May 6, 2009. Born July 9, 1930 in Flagstaff, Arizona, she was the daughter of the late Zetta Bernice Frizzell Sauer and Merle Sylvester Sauer.
She was of the Protestant faith and had worked several years in retail at Creations Dress Shop in Heber Springs.
She enjoyed listening to and playing classical music. She graduated from Flagstaff High School, class of 1948, and attended a local college for two years. She was a member of the Town Girls at the college.
Shirley was a stenographer and a receptionist at the post engineers department of Navajo Ordinance Depot.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Leroy Cothren of Pangburn, Arkansas in 1981; and a sister, Margie Elvey of Flagstaff, Arizona.
Survivors include one daughter, Shelley Harbin and husband Melvin of Flower Mound, Texas; one step-daughter, Rose Marie Collins of Texas; one step-son, Lester Cothren of Nevada; nieces, Linda and Julie; nephew, Mike; grandchildren, Trevor and Tanner Harbin of Flower Mound Texas; best friend, Elton Langley of Heber Springs and many friends.
