Charles E. 'Gene' Laffoon, 79, of Hector, Arkansas, died Friday, March 7, 2003 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, Arkansas.

The son of George and Norma Johnson Laffoon, he was born February 28, 1924 in Dover, Arkansas.

He married Helen Wisdom on December 20, 1946 at Russellville, Arkansas.

Mr. Laffoon was a United States Army Veteran of WWII and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a retired accountant with Kraft Foods. He was a member of Dover First Baptist Church, the VFW, and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Eulas Laffoon and Bill Laffoon and two nephews Daniel Laffoon and Keith Laffoon.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Laffoon, Hector; one brother, Ray Laffoon, Lemon Grove; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10 A.M. Monday, March 10, 2003 at the Dover First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Jeff Paxton and Rev. Ray Laffoon. Burial will be at the McFadden Cemetery at Dover, AR under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Mr. Laffoon's Nephews will be pallbearers.

Helen (Wisdom) Laffoon, 86, of Hector, AR, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

The daughter of Lawrence and Alta Viva Johnson Wisdom was born July 21, 1925, in Crowell, Tx.

She was an Accountant for many years. Helen was a big supporter of the Dover Library. She was a member of the First Baptist of Dover where she was a church Secretary, taught in the children's department, worked in the church library, and worked with the Awana group. Helen always loved taking care of her lawn, gardening, reading, and enjoying time with her church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Gene Laffoon; her parents; two sisters Jean Wooten and Caroline Patton; one brother Clinton Wisdom; and her niece Nina Patton.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother Max Wisdom & Wife Wanda of Hector; a sister in law Lojean Wisdom of Hector; Sister in law Catherine Laffoon of Nashville, Tn; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Dover. Brother Jeff Paxton and Brother Sandy Taylor will officiate. Burial will be at McFadden Cemetery in Dover, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service.
