Her Last breath on earth and her first breath in heaven was received on August 22, 2022 as Barbara Rey Humfleet went to be with the Lord. She was met there by her husband, George Wallace Humfleet of 55 years, who preceded her in death on March 1, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William Raymond Boggs, Sibyl Alice Boggs and her sister, Kathryn St. John.
Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, referred to as GiGi. She proudly shared the accomplishments of each child. She loved her many fur babies throughout the years, working puzzles, reading, flowers and gardening. She met her husband while living in Alaska, he was stationed in Alaska while serving in the U.S. Navy. They were married on Dec. 20, 1949 in Kansas City, Mo.
Barbara worked for many years for Gulf Oil Company and W.R. Grace, (formerly Emerson & Cummings), all the while caring for her family, parents, her mother in-law and anyone who needed her help. She was compassionate and kind to everyone she met, yet also had no problem speaking her mind and holding her own. Being a two-time Breast Cancer Survivor as well as other ailments through the years, she was one of the strongest women I knew. She lived in Richardson, Texas for 36 years, 35 with her husband before moving to Conway, Arkansas to be closer to her grandchildren and great grandchildren where she resided for 17 years.
Barbara is survived by her son, Robert Ray Humfleet who resides in Allen, Texas; her daughter, Constance (Kim) Collister, her son in-law; Gary Alan Collister both of Conway, Arkansas. She is survived by two grandchildren, Jennifer Caroline Collister Keylor of Conway, Arkansas and Cade Kristopher Collister of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She leaves behind 9 great grandchildren, all whom she adored, Aven Michelle Collister, Sophia Caroline Collister, Ella Marie Collister, Ethan Cade Collister, Beckett Kristopher Collister all of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Stone Zane Keylor, Aiden Vox Keylor, Josie Jane Keylor and Destin Jace Keylor residing in Conway, Arkansas.
Barbara's famous last words: "Whatever". She was loved and will be dearly missed by all.
The family wishes to give a special Thank You to Stonebridge Living Center in Conway for their attentive and compassionate care during her time spent there, and to Kindred Hospice who helped to make her last days peaceful until her passing.
