John Pollock of Jacksonville departed this life on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the age of 75. Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, John was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers. He was a member of Jacksonville Christian Fellowship. After 20 years of service, both at home and abroad, he retired from the Air Force in 1972. He also retired from Lucent Technologies in 1997. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed model airplanes and trains. Beloved as a husband and father, John will truly be missed by his family.



He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Pollock; six devoted children, John Pollock of Kansas City, MO., Mary Meyers of Phoenix, AZ., Cindy Nichols of Kansas City, MO., Laura Bostick of Marion, AR., Jeff and Daniel Pollock, both of Sherwood; fifteen grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.



A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Moores Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday prior to the service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Moores Jacksonville Funeral Home. (501) 982-2136.

Barbara Pollock, 83, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed peacefully from this world on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. She was born May 16, 1938 in Orlando, Florida to the late Anthony and Alice Fakess. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, John Pollock Sr.; her siblings, Anthony “Bunny” Fakess, Eileen Rubella, Valthea Pelaez, Mary Suter, Peter Fakess, and John Fakess.

Barbara grew up in Florida where she met and married John Pollock, who was stationed there in the Air Force at the time. Several moves and three children later, John and Barbara settled in Jacksonville, Arkansas where they went on to raise six children.

Barbara’s faith was a driving influence in her life and she never passed up a chance to share her heart with strangers and confidants alike. As a long-time member of Jacksonville Christian Fellowship, she taught Sunday School, led Bible studies and held many hands through both tears and laughter. Barbara will be remembered for cultivating deep friendships and pouring her whole heart into loving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, John Pollock and his wife, Lesley; Mary Meyers and her husband, Julian; Cindy Nichols and her husband, Mike; Laura Bostick and her husband, Ron; Jeffery Pollock; and Daniel Pollock and his wife, Elizabeth. She will be remembered by her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer, Johnny, Jacob, Grayson, Adam, Jonathan, Stephen, David, Michael, Rachel, Johnice, Josh, Allison, Angela, Emily, and Nathan; her seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 N JP Wright Loop Rd., Jacksonville, AR. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, 501-982-2136.
