Evelyn Sue Baker, 65, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Cleveland, Texas. She was born in Malvern, Arkansas on April 6, 1945 to Martha Payne and Myron Samons who preceded her in death. Survivors include her loving husband Bill Baker of Cleveland, TX; mother Martha Sue Samons of Malvern, AR; daughters Martha E Hillin and husband Jim of Concord, NC, Elizabeth A. Wilson and husband Britton of Huffman, TX, and Emily A. Baker of Austin, TX; sons John D. Jenkins of Houston, TX, Michael O. Jenkins and wife Rachel of Tomball, TX, and Ethan A. Baker of Austin, TX; brother George Michael Samons and wife Lynda; grandchildren Bryant and Connor Jenkins of Tomball, TX, Christopher, Lauren and Drake Hillin of Concord NC, Catherine, Charlotte and Colin Wilson of Huffman, TX; nephew Geoffrey Samons, wife Margaret and family of Mt. Ida, AR; Niece Leigh Samons and family of Denton, TX and several other aunts and cousins. A memorial service will be held Tuesday November 30, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Kingwood United Methodist Church, Kingwood, TX. Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Malvern, AR. at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 4, 2010 with graveside services following at Rockport Memorial Garden Cemetery. Pallbearers include Mike Jenkins, John Jenkins, Jim Hillin, Britton Wilson, Geoffrey Samons and Jeff Norwood with honorary pallbearer Sal Digiorgio. Viewing available 1 hour prior to funeral and reception following services in First United Methodist Church fellowship Hall, Malvern AR. Among Sue’s greatest passions was her commitment to ensuring everyone around her found the greatest inside themselves. She believed the Lord placed unlimited potential in everyone and she marveled at helping to bring this alive. Her love for Christian Education led her to years and years of committed service to a number of churches. She had an alive passion for youth and adults alike to grow in their relationship with the Lord. She left footprints on the hearts of so many people, her enduring love, memorable and unforgettable hug will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to the Wounded Soldiers Project.
