November 6, 1936 - November 29, 2018
Shirley Jean Buck, age 82, of Malvern was called to her Heavenly home Thursday November 29, 2018. She was born in Gurdon Arkansas on November 6, 1936 to Guy and Delphia Langley.
Shirley retired from Malvern Water Works after nearly fifty years of service. She was a charter member of the Malvern Jacettes, member of the ESA sorority, a member of First Baptist Church and was active in a local ladies’ bridge club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Kathryn Thomason and nephew Lucas Langley.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother Jerry (Sherry) Langley of Malvern, nieces Janet (Eric) Transou of Pineville, Louisiana, Cheryl Thomason and Steve Maxwell of Webster, Texas, Nephew Greg Langley (Candy) of Malvern and numerous cousins and a host of special friends that she considered family.
Although Shirley never had children of her own she nurtured three special girls as if they were her own.
These special ladies are Kim Barrett of Malvern, Jamie Bigelow of Benton, Brooke Langley of Alexander and her special Grandbabies Allie Barrett, Preston Bigelow and Lane Bigelow.
Visitation at Regency Funeral Home Sunday December 2 from 2-4 PM.
Lunch will be served to family and close friends at 11 AM in the First Baptist Church Life Center on Monday December 3, before the services.
Services are at Regency Funeral Home Monday December 3 at 2 PM with Bro. Verne Wickliffe officiating. Burial will be at Rockport Memorial Gardens Cemetery. After the burial the family will be at Shirley’s home 833 Hall Street for any family and friends to stop by for refreshments.
Pallbearers: cousins Jimmy Wright, Billy Gates, Larry Plyler, Gary Plyler and special friends Lloyd Shnaekel, Tony Shnaekel. Honorary pallbearers are Doyle Neeper, Charlie Sellers, Dr. Shawn Purifoy
