Ezekiel James "Zeke" Blanton, age 37, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015.
He was born on November 28, 1978 in Orlando, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, James Lee Blanton; his paternal grandmother, Marilyn Dowling; and his maternal grandfather, F. L. Williams.
He was active in Freedom United Foundation, a foundation that sells clothing with a percentage of all profits going to many charitable organizations. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Hot Springs and was employed as a sales representative for Final Touch Roofing. Zeke enjoyed life, especially sports. He was very fond of dirt bike riding and soccer.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Patricia and Carroll Spaugh of Sherman; his sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Robbie Vining of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two nephews, Tatum and Liam Vining; his maternal grandmother, Monica "Oma" Williams of Sherman; his paternal grandfather, Kingsley Dowling of Gainesville, Texas; one step-brother, David Spaugh of Dallas; and two step-sisters, Lisa Hoaglen of Sherman and Wendy Spaugh of Dallas.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crossgate Church with Pastor Shawn Barnard officiating.
Visitation is Tuesday, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Thornton, Hayden Glisson, Elijah Blanton, Doug Myers, Doug Hayes, Greg Carney, Matt Everhart, Tyler Roach, Wayne Parsons and Chad Chaney.
Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Lester, Berto Baez, Mike Hendrickson, Lee Campbell, Taylor Lightcap, Brandon Young, Jake Spradlin, Jimmy Pender, Tommy Hefner, Levi Crise and Ryan Bridges.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
