Warren N. Pittman, 87, of Hot Springs died Saturday, August 4, 2018 surrounded by family and friends.
Services will be Friday, August 10 at 10 am at Gross Funeral Home of Hot Springs with the Rev. Don Hubbard of First Christian Church of Hot Springs officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 9 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Gross Funeral Home, 120 Wrights St.

Mr. Pittman was born August 10, 1930 in Hot Springs to Willis Pittman and Flora Mooney.

He graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1948 and attended Phillips University in Enid, OK, for two years before enlisting in the US Army. After two years of active duty he served many years in the Army reserve, retiring as First Sergeant of Company A, 489th Engineer Brigade.

His unit was called to active duty in 1961 stationed at Ft. Benning, GA, during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Warren also served for many years as a Postal letter carrier and was a USPS Vehicle Operations & Maintenance Assistant at the time of his retirement.

He was an Elder and active member of the board of First Christian Church. He loved the Arkansas Razorbacks, turkey hunting and had a lifelong passion for trains and model railroading.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Billie Ann Pittman; and brother, Don Pittman.

Survivors include a special niece, Dianne Arnold of Hot Springs and nephew, Jerry Don Pittman of Chickasha, OK; brother-in-law, Roger Kymes; sisters-in-law, Betty Sanders and Barbara Pittman and a host of other nieces, nephews cousins, and great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Mike Flemming, Buddy Brodrick, Tom Ellsworth Jr, Roger Hathcock, Mike Karber and Dick Hundley.

Honorary pallbearers are his many US Army Reserve and US Postal Service buddies.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to First Christian Church, 1806 Central Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71901
