Evelyn "Joyce" McNeely, age 87, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018.
She was born on April 16, 1930, in Greeneville, TN, the daughter of the late Thomas Shelton and Ruby Myrlle Hensley. She was raised by her stepfather James Robert "Pop" Oliver and mother Ruby Oliver.
Joyce was a clerk at the Central Avenue location of Wal-Mart, retiring after seventeen years of service. Joyce was a Christian and of the Methodist Faith. She was a loving and devoted mother. Of her many passions, family was of greatest importance.
Joyce is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Billy and Charlotte McNeely of Hot Springs and Gary McNeely of Italy, TX; sisters Jacquelyn Poteet (Jack) of Fairfield Bay, AR, Jean Grandstaff, Shirley Diffee, and Judy Myers (Tex), all of Hot Springs; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David Oliver (Robinette) and Robert Oliver (Verlene) both of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Ashley McNeely of Glenwood, Jodi McNeely of Hot Springs, Cayce McNeely of Grandview, TX, and Paula McNeely of Fort Worth, TX; five great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 12, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Pastor Don Fritz officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday at 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Beau Brickell, John King, Ryan Myers, Douglas Myers, Tex Myers, and Robert Oliver Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the nurses of Kindred Hospice and the compassionate staff of Quapaw Health and Rehab.
