Husband of Grace Leona "Gracie" Clodfelter Franklin
James Walter Franklin, 82, died in a Van Buren, Arkansas hospital on January 29, 1960, from a short illness.
Mr. Franklin was a member of the Freewill Baptist church, a retired farmer, a resident of Van Buren for 30 years, and he was a veteran of the Spanish American War.
Besides his wife, Grace, of the family home, 2521 Teddy Street, Van Buren, he leaves two sons, Charles of Van Buren and John of Laramie, Wyoming; three daughters, Madelin Cradduck of Cleburne, Texas, Kathleen Montgomery and Gladys Mankins, both of Van Buren and 15 grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Monday afternoon in the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist church, officiating ministers were; Rev. Loyd Summerhill and Rev. Rupert Pixley.
Burial was at Mt. McCurry cemetery and was directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
