Mr. Amos Gentry of Joshua, Texas; formerly of Van Buren, Arkansas, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Texas. Mr. Gentry was 87 years old. He was born in 1920 in Rudy, Arkansas. Mr. Gentry was a retired foreman for G.Q. Salmon Company in Odessa, Texas.
He is survived by a daughter: Renee Gentry of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one step-daughter: Carolyn Brigance, of Joshua, Texas; two sons: Darrell Gentry of San Marcos, California, Ronald Gentry of Yorba Linda, California; one step-son: David Ratliff of Odessa, Texas; three sisters: Trixie Chadwick of Van Buren, Arkansas, Geneva Stewart of Rudy, Arkansas, and Wanda Arnold of Rudy, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchidlren.
Funeral service was held on Monday, July 21, 2008, at 11:00a.m. at the Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers were: Alan Arnold, Rick Arnold, Anthony Arnold, Stanley Arnold, Kevin Stewart, and Craig Walhmeirer.
