Virgil Burkhart, 59 years old 413 South 12 Street, Van Buren, Arkansas died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 13, 1967 while mowing grass at his home. Mr. Burkhart was born December 30, 1907 in Rudy, Arkansas, the son of Harmon and Sarah Depew Burkhart. He was a former employee of Arkhola Sand and Gravel company and a member of Rudy Pentecostal church.
Survivors are his wife, Virgie May; seven sons; two daughters, Mildred of Fort Smith and Sarah Lou of Van Buren; four brothers; five sisters, Nola, Mrs. Kenner of Rudy, Grace, Mrs. Furr and Bertie all of Fort Smith; and 18 grandchildren.
The funeral service was held in Rudy Pentecostal church Saturday at 2 p.m. with A. McFadden officiating, assisted by Raymond H. Teague. Burial was in Mt. McCurry cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
