Joan PRICKET SOULE

Memorial Gardens Cemetery
Garland County,
Arkansas

July 26, 1929 - April 3, 2013

Joan P. Soule' Beloved wife of Evan R. Soule' for 57 years, she is survived by her son, Evan R. Soule', Jr. and his wife Jennifer and son, Ian. The only child of Georgia W. and Clyde O. Pricket, Joan was born in Beaumont, Texas and was a graduate of Stephens College in Missouri. She met her husband while attending Soule' College in New Orleans, Louisiana where she later taught secretarial and stenography courses. She also took extensive courses in philosophy from astrophysicist Andrew J. Galambos of The Liberal Institute of Natural Science and Technology based in Los Angeles. She later retired from Middle South Services, Inc., following a long career as Executive Secretary to the Chairman-of-the-Board of that company. Following hurricane Katrina, Joan moved from New Orleans to Hot Springs with her family. Knowing that life seems so fleeting, for many decades Joan always carried with her an increasingly-frayed newspaper clipping with the following quotation that reminded her of the mutual love she shared with her loving husband of 57 years: "Togetherness" "Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. "Whatever we were to each other, we still are. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the same easy way you always have. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. "Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it always was. There is absolute unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. "All is well. Nothing is past. Nothing has been lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before -- only better. Infinitely happier. We will be one, together forever." Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 5, 2013, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
