Euna Jean Watters Sitton, daughter of the late Daniel Hayden Watters and Una Imogene Cooper Watters, was born January 14, 1950 in Batesville, Arkansas. She departed this life January 2, 2021 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 19 days. Euna was a lifelong resident of Melbourne. She was a graduate of Melbourne High School and went on to attend college at Arkansas State University in Beebe and University of Central Arkansas in Conway. After college she worked in the Izard County Clerk’s Office and Dr. Harold Tatum’s Medical Clinic. She went on to work at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, retiring after 20 years of employment. She was united in marriage to James Sitton January 7, 1972 and together they raised two sons. Euna spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. She served on the Melbourne School Board for several years. Euna was active in the community affairs of Melbourne. She was member of the Izard County Fair Board, serving as Pageant Director for many years. She was a KARK 4 Community Service Award recipient. She was generous with her time and attention by hosting several foreign exchange students. Euna had a love for interior design. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years: James Sitton of the home; two sons: Noah Sitton and Eric Sitton and wife Tiffany all of Melbourne; two grandchildren: Lexi Sitton and Nicholas Sitton of Melbourne; one honorary daughter: Gina Chavez of Melbourne many uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Elmer and Clementine Watters and maternal grandparents: Marvin “Skeet” Cooper and Josie Lawrence Cooper.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 4 from 6-8 p.m. at Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Belview Baptist Church with Jess Sumrall and Brett Cooper officiating. Burial will be at Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers: Danny Moser, Jerry Williams, Joe Johnson, Wayne Moore, Gary Graham and Al Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Cone, Wyatt Slater, Jerry Blankenship and Wayne Wilson.
