Lexie Arlene Pepper, 93, of Parkers Chapel passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at her residence.
She was born September 8, 1920 in Union County to William Patrick & Nellie Reynolds Greer. Lexie worked in sales for Avon and was a member of Parkers Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a pretty and kind lady and could be feisty when she wanted to be. Lexie loved animals and she would take in every stray cat and dog she could, she loved working in her yard and had a green thumb and could grow any vegetable or flower.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Lawrence James Pepper; her daughter, Shirley Sumner of Walkerville, AR; two brothers, Curtis H. Greer and Harvey Greer and two sisters Cloie Greer and Lottie Viola Ward.
Survivors include her two sons, Jerry Pepper (Kathy) & Bruce Pepper (Donna); two daughters, Carolyn Hendrix (Janus) and Beverly McFarland (Russell) all of El Dorado, AR; a step sister, Verna Walls of Camden, AR; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Parkers Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Young’s Funeral Directors.
The family will be at 602 Robin Rd., El Dorado, AR.
A special thank-you to her caregivers, Doris Clifford, Nellie Candly and Bonnie Lupo, for their many dedicated years of taking good care of mama and whom became part of the family. We would also like to thank Life Touch Hospice with a special thank-you to Berniece Carelock.
