Mary Ellen Purcell, age 87, of Roswell, GA passed away on January 31, 2011. She was born and raised in Paxton, Illinois. She married Army Air Corps Sergeant Junot Purcell in January 1941. After his retirement, they resided in Jacksonville, Arkansas until his death in 1995 when she moved to Roswell.
She is survived by her children Sally Dodds (Norman) of Alpharetta, GA, Linda Bailey (Darrell) of Cullman Alabama, and Nancy Kiehl of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; John Dodds of Raleigh, NC, Stacey Dodds Armond of Mandeville, LA, Benjamin Bailey of Orlando, Florida, Wendy Tuger of Ponchatoula, LA, Tony and Christopher Kiehl of Phoenix, AZ. Mary had four great-grandchildren. Mary was active in the establishment of Hope Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She was a member of Rivercliffe Lutheran Church in Sandy Springs, GA.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at Moores Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. Graveside services will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rivercliffe Lutheran Church or the American Lung Association in Marys memory.
