Mary Dee HECKE

Memorial Gardens Cemetery
Garland County,
Arkansas

May 13, 1927 - January 10, 2015

Mary Dee Hecke, age 87, of Hot Springs, died Saturday, January 10, 2015.

She was born on May 13, 1927 in Hot Springs, the daughter of Tobe Riddle and Etta Hardin Riddle.

On July 13, 1946, she was married to Bobby Hecke. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary Dee graduated from Hot Springs High School. She was a homemaker and a Methodist in faith. She was a member of the Jaycettes, the Lioness Club, and was a charter member of The Forum Club.

Family, fashion, faith, and frequent get-togethers featuring wonderful home-made foods. These are the words that make us think of Mary Dee. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, (perfect mother-in-law), grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a walking piece of history that provided an extremely valued resource for advice to friends and family. She grew up during the Great Depression, fell in love and was married to a solider just after WWII. Mary Dee had four children in five to six year intervals, which she would say, allowed her to form a special bond with each of them. She was traditional, modern, calm, passionate, social yet enjoyed her alone time. She was surrounded by family when she left this earth peacefully to be with her Lord.

Mary Dee is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bobby Hecke; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Jan Hecke and Robby and Malissa Hecke; two daughters and one son-in-law, Vickie Loris and Jamie Nimmo and Darla and Randy Hall, all of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren, Melanie Streetman, Matt Hecke, Stephanie Richardson, Kellie Wilson, Trevyn Loris, Kristen Parker, Taylor Liggett, Mary Ashley Hall, and Blake Hecke; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Lynn Riddle of Hot Springs; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Janice Queen and Linda and Tommy Conly, all of Hot Springs; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 16, 2015 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Rev. Chris Conly officiating.

Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Pallbearers will be Trevyn Loris, Taylor Liggett, Matt Hecke, Wes Richardson, Will Parker, Jamie Nimmo, Richard Morrow, and Tony Streetman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Conly, Jay Conly, Steve Pilotte, and George Queen.
