George Vernon Robertson, Sr. age 87 of Jacksonville went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. He was born July 22, 1927 in Morrilton, Arkansas to the late Dee and Susie Robertson. Mr. Robertson joined the United States Navy at an early age and served in WWII. After the military he used the GI Bill to further his education in watch making following in the footsteps of his father. He continued in watch making for 10 years until he started a new career in automotive service, he began with a Texaco Station and continued onward with tire re-capping , and automotive repair. In 1956, he started George's Auto Care in Jacksonville which continues to operate today. He was a devoted family man who took care of his family especially his late wife of 56 years Betty Robertson, who had many illnesses starting at an early age. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and was well known for his tomato growing and beekeeping. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his son, George Robertson Jr., siblings; Ruby Poche, William Robertson, and Marie Yount. He is survived by his loving daughter Mary Robertson Jackson, grandchildren; Tami Jackson and her husband Jim, Mandi Massie and her husband Brian, Jennifer O'Barr, Julie Robertson, great-grandchildren; Austin O'Barr, J.J. Jackson, Ava Grace Massie, Emma Joy Massie, Jayden Ivy Jackson and his dog Lucky. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Denton and Pastor Tim Gaddy officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of the American Heart Association. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home & Crematory (501) 982-2136.

Betty Jean Robertson, 78 of Jacksonville, Arkansas died September 30, 2008. She was born July 21, 1930 in Russell, Arkansas to the Late Charles Oscar and Josie Shannon Piker. When her children were in school, Betty was the president of the PTA at North Heights Elementary School in Levy. She loved collecting Beanie Babies and frogs. Betty always expressed her love for her husband, George, of 56 years and she loved and was very proud of her family. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Sonny Piker, and her grandson, David Jackson.



She is survived by her husband, George; son, George Robertson, Jr. of North Little Rock; daughter, Mary Beth and husband Matt Jackson of Cabot; a sister, Louise Hodges of Pangburn; granddaughters, Tami Jackson, Mandi Massie, Jennifer OBarr, and Julie Robertson; step-grandsons, Hutch and Codi Jackson; great-grandchildren, Austin OBarr, J. J. Jackson, and Ava Grace Massie, and numerous nieces and nephews.



The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2008 in the Chapel of Moores Jacksonville Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Denton officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Moores Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136.
