Allene Bulas Mitchell of Van Buren, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at a Van Buren nursing facility.
She was born December 15, 1919 to Andrew Bascomb and Dovie K. Montgomery Ferguson at Long, Oklahoma.

She attended high school in Roland.
She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church, lived and worked in Detroit for General Motors Corporation from which she retired in 1976. She then moved back to Van Buren to be with family and friends. She was a lovely lady who seldom had a cross word or harsh opinion to speak of anyone. She will be truly missed by all family to whom she was an inspiration.

She married William V. Mitchell on March 27, 1955.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew B. and Dovie K. Ferguson; her husband, William V. Mitchell; brothers, Max, Ted, Bill and Rex Ferguson, all of Fort Smith; also by sisters, Eva Sullivan of Fort Smith, Ora Sullivan of Springfield, Mo, and Trix Padberg of Fort Smith.

She was survived by a sister, Mrs. Dema Smith of Van Buren; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Louise Ferguson of Fort Smith; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Gracelawn Cemetery.
