Gracelawn Cemetery
Crawford County,
Arkansas

September 30, 1968 - May 15, 2013

Lisa Wynelle Smith Mayfield was born Sept. 30, 1968, in Largo, Fla.
Lisa went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

Lisa was a member of the worship team at CrossPointe Community Church in Van Buren, where she and her husband, Ronny, are pastors. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas and her master's degree from Arkansas Tech University. In 2012, she received her National Board Certification. Lisa was a teacher in the Van Buren School District for nine years, spending time at Central Middle School, King Elementary School, and most recently, Butterfield Trail Middle School. Lisa first and foremost loved Jesus Christ, her family and life in general. She was committed and passionate about the gifts and ministry God had given her to teach, lead and inspire students to be all that God created them to be. She was a lifelong learner and spent endless hours equipping to be a better person, leader, teacher and servant for the Lord. Lisa loved music, playing piano, scrap-booking, traveling and investing in the lives of those around her.

She lived life to its fullest and crossed its finish line full of love, courage, faith and great expectations to see the Lord and her loved ones gone before her: her grandparents, Daniel and Lizzie Griner; her pop, Win Motter; her grandfather, Robert Leslie Smith; her in-laws, John Edd and Bonnie Mayfield; and other family and special friends.

Lisa temporarily leaves behind her husband of 26 years, Ronny; daughter, Ashley Danielle Mayfield of the home; her father and mother, Tom and Genelle Smith of Safety Harbor, Fla.; a sister, Kim Smith and husband Chris of Muskogee, Okla.; a grandmother, Neita Noble of Inverness, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Veva Young of Van Buren; two brothers-in-law, Johnny Mayfield and wife Susan and Jimmy Mayfield of Spaulding, Okla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She certainly touched the lives of many.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Van Buren Fine Arts Center with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Buck Cobley, Michael Moore, Tony Jester, David Atwell, Tom Unverzagt, Danny Underwood, Shane Evans and Tim Gardner.
