James Edwin "Jim" Lloyd, 69 of Van Buren went to be with our Lord Monday, October 15, 2012 in his home.
He was born September 1, 1943 in Fort Smith.

He was a sixth generation member of a Crawford County Family that settled in Arkansas territory in the early 1830's, prior to statehood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, County Judge Edwin & Juanita Parrish Lloyd.

Jim graduated from Van Buren High School in 1961 and attended the University of Arkansas. He was a member of the Demolays; The Masonic Fraternity; The Scottish Rite 32nd Degree and a former member of Amarita Grotto M.O.V.P.E.R. serving in the clown unit, visiting with sick children in area hospitals. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Strategic Air Command. A tribal member of the Oklahoma Cherokee nation. He was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church; where he served in the Food Pantry Ministry for many years until his recent illness.
He retired as an officer from Union Pacific Railroad, St. Louis in 1999 after more than 30 years of service, after which he was an intermodal consultant for the railroad and then for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. He then returned home to Van Buren.

Jim was an avid fisherman and also an expert pistol marksman. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He was a loving, enthusiastic and pleasant person to be around.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda of the home; two step-daughters, Yvonne Chauvin & husband, Dr. E.J. of Rogers, Lisa Gearhart & husband, Jeff of Rogers; two step-sons, John DuCharme & wife, Maria of St. Louis, Ronald DuCharme & wife, Valerie of St. Charles ,IL.; six grandchildren; four aunts, Metta Phillips, of Van Buren, Alice Nysveen of Tulsa, Doris Lloyd of Van Buren & Betty Hansen of Grand Junction, Colorado ; local cousins, John Lloyd, Jerry Dale Kelly, Sharon Sue Taylor, Sue Ellen Harris, Joe Thomas Lloyd Jr., Robert Allen Lloyd, Donald Joe Elliott, Ernest Michael Elliott, Bobby Joe Lloyd, Nita Faye Bruning, Bobby, Terry & Tina Nysveen, Kathy Kramer, John Freeman.

Pallbearers will be Robert Lloyd, Joe Lloyd III, Jerry Harris, Jason Harris, Chris Brown, Kevin Hardcastle, Jody Chauvin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be John Easley, Vernon Russell, David Armbruster, Jim Lockhart, Charley Kessler, Steve Myers, Joe Moore, Robbie Haddock & The Heritage Food Bank Volunteers.
