July 6, 1924 - February 18, 2013
Claire Bernice Stadele Heath, 88, of Hot Springs passed away Monday, February 18, 2013. Bernice was born July 6, 1924 in Plainfield, New Jersey to Herman and Margaret Powers Stadele. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and her beloved husband Carlton C. Heath.
Bernice was a resident of Houston, TX before moving to Royal, AR in October, 1992. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Mary's of the Springs Catholic Church in Hot Springs, AR. She was a full charge bookkeeper for Tappan, O'Keefe and Merrit Company, Champions Golf Club and various small service companies. Bernice was involved in many organizations including Women in Credit, St. Ambrose Altar Society, World Apostolate of Fatima for the Houston-Galveston, TX Diocese, Legion of Mary and The Third Order of Carmel in Houston, TX and Hot Springs, AR.
She is survived by one stepson, Michael Heath, and brother-in-law Leamon Heath of Winter Haven, FL and one cousin Joan Valakos of Hagerstown, MD.
Pallbearers will be Peter Couch, Trey Couch, Doug Shackelford, Glen Fortenberry, John Steinhaus, and Wally Marroy.
A Rosary will be held at Gross Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21, 2013 beginning at 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Innocent Okore officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary cemetery.
