Lucille Bushmiaer Burrough passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2013. She was born in Kibler on Sept. 13, 1911, to Lula Brinkley and William S. Bushmiaer.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Virgil F. "Bill" Burrough, and nine siblings.

She is survived by her daughters, Francille (Dale Brasuell) and Mary Jane (Bob Lickel); and five grandsons, Chris Hampton (Robin), Clay Hampton, Jeff Williams (Marcy), Mark Williams (Paige) and Joel West Williams. In addition, she is survived by six great-granddaughters and two great-great-grandsons.

Lucille lived a rich life of 102 years in the communities of Van Buren, Alma and Kibler. She deeply loved her extensive family, which included her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends with whom she shared many stories of family and community history. Lucille was very creative and shared this gift through decorating, sewing, gardening and cooking. She hosted many large gatherings in her home that allowed family and friends to stay close. Lucille was committed to community service through her church, political volunteerism and extending charitable generosity.

Lucille was a member of Kibler Methodist Church from childhood through young adulthood. On Feb. 4, 1912, she received her cradle roll certificate signed by her grandfather, superintendent of the Sunday school. To this day, that certificate hangs proudly in Lucille's family room. When Lucille married Bill Burrough, she joined First Presbyterian Church in Van Buren, where she remained an active member for 78 years.

Family visiting will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Gracelawn Cemetery, 3003 Oak Lane in Van Buren, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 108 S. 10th St., Van Buren.
