Nellie Faye Brodie, 97, of Van Buren passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014. She was born July 5, 1916, in Van Buren to the late Walter Lee and Ruth Moon.

She worked in the cafeteria at Sophia Meyer School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Blakemore Brodie; a son, Darrell Brodie; a brother, Hubert Moon; and two sisters, Etha Hicks and Cecil Spencer.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Martin and husband Bill of Fort Smith and Deborah Gilbreath and husband Micky of Van Buren; two sons, Dwain Brodie and wife JoAnn of Van Buren and Wendall Brodie and wife Libby of Fort Smith; a sister, Louise Ferguson of Fort Smith; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Blake Brodie, David Brodie, Stephen Brodie, Daniel Brodie, David Martin and Kenny Martin.
