Oleta Bankston, 80, of Van Buren died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, in Van Buren. She was born March 18, 1929, in Rayford, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God in Van Buren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Bankston.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Bankston of Van Buren and Denise Maness and her husband, Kenny of Paris; one son, Ron Bankston and his wife, Martha of Van Buren; one sister, Wilma Rippy of Beggs, Okla.; one brother, Loy Swearingen of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Carey Bankston Houston and her husband, Mike, Cody Bankston and his wife, Erica, Audra Maness, Katie Maness and Case Maness; and one great-granddaughter, Hannah Houston.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2009, at First Assembly of God in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence McCullah, Lonnie Richesin, David Landers, Kennon Swearingen, Tim Bankston and Pat Bankston.
